I feel truly blessed to be able to Direct and Produce content that makes a real difference.”

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES, June 1, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — Charlotte, NC Director – Bettina Floyd, known for her work with companies such as Nascar, Universal Studios, Oprah Winfrey Network, Lifetime, Peacock, and Netflix is on the move again. Her latest work “Sentenced to Pray” premiered in Columbia, South Carolina at the Spotlight Theater on May 6th, 2023. “Sentence to Pray” is a faith-based movie scripted from real accounts, bringing awareness to mental health and post-traumatic prison disorder.

Bettina worked closely with the Executive Producer and Writer Sharon Davis to bring this docudrama to life that was born from true events that the writer faced while in prison. The movie follows the story of a woman struggling with her mental health and the impact of trauma while navigating the prison system. The film is a powerful exploration of the mental health challenges that many incarcerated women face and the need for greater support and understanding for those who have experienced trauma.

“I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to bring this important story to the screen,” says Bettina. “Mental health and trauma are complex issues that affect so many people and a lot of times in the African American community seeking therapy usually isn’t the popular choice. Although it is growing in popularity, I want people of color to know it is okay to seek God and therapy to work your way through issues.”

The premiere was attended by a diverse group of guests, including community leaders, mental health advocates, and members of the film industry. The event was a great success, with guests praising the film’s powerful storytelling and poignant message.

Existent Dreams strives to produce content that showcases people of color and gives a platform for unheard voices. “I am excited to continue my work in bringing important stories to the screen and look forward to engaging with new and established artists to create content that makes a difference.” – Bettina Floyd
